Responsabilities:
- Background in quality, manufacturing, metrology, optics, electronics, or other high tech industry is preferred.
- Experience implementing work instructions in an ISO9000 environment.
- First-line support for Manufacturing staff, support manufacturing with technical projects as needed.
- Liaison between Manufacturing and Engineering departments. Review of documentation released by Engineering for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
- Updating and maintenance of manufacturing documentation: CAD drawings, Bills of Materials, work instructions, forms, MRP database, etc.
- Lead weekly Material Review Board, reviewing, documenting and analyzing component and sub-assembly quality issues, both incoming and in-process.
- Liaison with suppliers to answer their technical questions as well as to demand quality parts & assemblies from underperforming suppliers.
- Support finding second source vendors for critical components.
- Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products:
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, of components and sub-assemblies.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Directs technicians engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compiles and writes internal training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.
- Development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures.
- The ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
Educational Requirements: BSME, BSEE or equivalent work experience.
Prior Work Experience: 5+ years experience.
Technical Experience:
- Knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, especially written.
- Able to interact effectively with engineers and technicians to get necessary information and support to complete projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Able to maintain a high level of productivity with minimal supervision.
